Voice4Change England (V4CE) are offering a paid internship for BME young people

V4CE are looking to recruit a paid intern for a leading national BME infrastructure organisation.

The paid internship will run for 5 months from the beginning of August to end of December and will be for a maximum of 24hrs a week (days/times are reasonably flexible) and the rate of pay will be at the London Living wage (£8.55).

We recognise that young people from BME backgrounds are under-represented when it comes to internships so will be looking to recruit someone who is 18-25yrs old and comes from a racial minority group and we are doing this as a positive action measure for a protected characteristic as determined by the Equality Act 2010.

We are looking at someone who is passionate about what is happening in their communities but also someone who is perhaps looking at a career in the voluntary/third/charity sector.

Key skills/knowledge to be gained as part of the internship include

  1. Developing online consultation tools

  2. Project management

  3. Event management

  4. Experience of working With BME groups in different settings

  5. Developing knowledge of the BME sector

  6. How to meet outputs/outcomes and measure success

  7. Managing workloads and prioritising

  8. Research skills
