A BME well-being organisation in Yorkshire has received a letter from the President of Ireland commending the work they do within the community. Leeds Irish Health and Homes (LIHH) provides supported housing and outreach services to vulnerable members of the community. In his letter to LIHH, President Michael D. Higgins thanked the staff of Leeds Irish Health and Homes for the compassion and support they give to the ‘wider Irish family’ living in Yorkshire. The letter is personally signed by the President. He also congratulated the organisation on recently achieving GOLD with Investors in People, the UK’s leading management standard. The award recognises the professional way they run their organisation and their commitment to delivering the best possible service to clients.
The letter reads as follows:
I am delighted to send my best wishes to Leeds Irish Health and Homes on achieving GOLD status with Investors in People. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank them for the valuable work they do on behalf of vulnerable and deprived members of our Irish Diaspora. Your care, compassion and support for those members of our wider Irish family, who now reside within your community, is commendable and truly appreciated here in Ireland.
I congratulate you on achieving GOLD status, an achievement I know is highly deserved.
