Manningham Housing Association (MHA) is proud to have been Highly Commended in the Excellence in Company Culture and Employee Development category at the Northern Housing Awards 2026 this May.

This recognition reflects the strong, people-first culture that sits at the heart of the organisation — one where colleagues are supported, valued and empowered to deliver the very best for tenants and communities.

At MHA, culture is not treated as a standalone initiative, but as a fundamental driver of performance and impact. By investing in staff wellbeing, development and inclusion, the organisation continues to strengthen its ability to deliver high-quality homes and meaningful community outcomes. The approach is simple: when colleagues feel engaged and supported, they are better able to support others.

This achievement aligns closely with MHA’s Organisational Development and People Strategy (2026–2029), which sets out a clear ambition to build a values-driven, inclusive and high-performing workforce. The strategy places a strong emphasis on employee wellbeing, continuous learning, and creating an environment where people can grow, contribute and thrive — ultimately improving the experience of tenants and the communities MHA serves.

The commendation also strengthens MHA’s position as a forward-thinking housing association, demonstrating how a strong internal culture translates into external impact. Alongside this recognition, MHA was shortlisted in several categories on the night, highlighting the breadth of its work across housing delivery, customer support and organisational development.

Commenting on the achievement, Chief Executive Lee Bloomfield said:

“We are incredibly proud to have been highly commended in this category. It reflects the culture we have built together at MHA — one that is rooted in respect, inclusion and a genuine commitment to our people.

We know that when we support our colleagues to thrive, they deliver outstanding services to our tenants. This recognition belongs to every member of staff who contributes to making MHA such a positive and impactful organisation.”

This recognition is ultimately a reflection of the collective effort across MHA. From frontline services to behind-the-scenes support, it is the dedication, care and collaboration of colleagues that continue to shape a culture where both people and communities can thrive.

As MHA looks ahead, this achievement provides further momentum to continue investing in its people, strengthening its culture, and delivering on its ambition to be a leading, values-driven organisation in the housing sector.
