New Director Appointment at Voice4Change England – Kunle Olulode

by Rushena on Fri, 2013-01-25 11:09

As the Chair of Trustees at Voice4change England it gives me great pleasure to announce that Kunle Olulode, formerly our marketing, media and communications lead, will take over as our new Director from February 1st 2013.

Kunle comes with a wealth of experience gained from running policy teams in the voluntary sector and local government and a former Convenor of Camden Black Workers Group. An active campaigner within the trade union movement, he has a strong record of building partnerships with leading national and international organisations, having also worked abroad in Spain and in the USA for groups such as Tommie Smith Youth Movement and 100 Black Men of Southern California.

Kunle says: ‘I am honoured to be given this chance to take up the helm at Voice4change. This is a difficult and challenging time for everyone in the voluntary and community sector and even more so for those from BME organisations. However, it is important that whatever the challenges are,  infrastructure organisations such as our own must remain resolute and forward- thinking in our work.  We have a great team of dedicated professionals and some tremendous partners. I look forward to taking V4CE into 2013 and will do my best to ensure that the organisation continues to provide support to the sector and maintains a significant role in influencing the outlook of policy makers at regional and national level.’

Notes to editors:

About Voice4Change England V4CE is a membership organisation that aims to strengthen the BME Voluntary and Community Sector to meet the needs of disadvantaged communities. We campaign for race equality and wider equality to make civil society work for everyone. Speaking to policymakers, we call for action on issues that matter to the BME VCS; bring the sector together to share good practice; and develop the sector to improve outcomes for BME and disadvantaged communities. Voice4Change England (V4CE) is the first national BME-led membership body in England.  As such we remain committed to this work at a time when civil society is failing the most disadvantaged.
