Tuntum Celebrates 27 Years of Supporting Nottingham Carnival

Tuntum once again supported Nottingham Carnival as a proud sponsor, bringing together residents, families, community organisations, performers and volunteers from Nottingham and beyond.

This year marked 27 years of Tuntum supporting the Carnival. The organisation continues to work alongside Richard Renwick MBE, former CEO of Tuntum Housing Association, and Nottingham Carnival Community Interest Company to celebrate Black heritage and culture in the city.

Tuntum’s Chief Executive, Charmaine Simei, and Director of Operations, Barrington Billings, joined partners including Nottingham City Council and Tuntum’s contractors to support the event.

Tuntum also hosted a community engagement tent, offering free creative and educational activities for children and families. Hundreds of visitors took part throughout the day, supported by Tuntum staff, volunteers and local organisations.

The Carnival also provided an opportunity for Tuntum to meet with residents and celebrate Nottingham’s diverse cultural heritage.

Continuing a long-standing tradition, Tuntum Chair Danielle Oum opened the parade alongside local dignitaries, the Sheriff of Nottingham, Councillor Audrey Dinnall, Police and Crime Commissioner Gary Godden and Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner Councillor Angela Kandola.
