Manningham Housing Association, a proud member of BME National, recently brought residents and partners together for its Halloween Mela, an event designed to celebrate culture and strengthen community connections. Families enjoyed a safe and welcoming environment where children took part in seasonal activities and adults had the chance to meet staff in an informal setting. The event highlighted the role BME housing associations play in creating inclusive spaces that respect cultural identity while building shared experiences.
Alongside community engagement, Manningham has continued to focus on service quality. Their achievement of the Customer Service Excellence ISO accreditation marks an important milestone and reflects strong processes, consistent frontline practice and a commitment to acting on resident feedback. For communities that often experience multiple layers of inequality, this recognition reinforces the value and professionalism of BME-led organisations within the housing sector.
Manningham has also been active in addressing issues that directly affect its residents, including taking part in Islamophobia Awareness Month and contributing to local activities aimed at promoting understanding and challenging prejudice. Looking ahead, the association is supporting future talent by engaging with young people, including a recent visit to Feversham Academy to highlight career pathways in housing. Through these efforts, Manningham continues to support its communities while encouraging the next generation to help shape the sector’s future.
