Pine Court Housing Association successfully hosted its annual Pine Court Community Cup, bringing together local communities for a day of sport, celebration, and togetherness. The event, held on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the LCFA Sefton Football centre, showcased a vibrant community spirit and a shared passion for football and family fun.

The atmosphere was electric! From impressive displays of skill and teamwork to incredible sportsmanship, every match was a joy to behold. Players gave it their all on the pitch, and off the field, the friendship was just as strong, with cheers of encouragement echoing across the centre.

The highlight of this year's event included Chris Makin, a retired professional footballer with a distinguished career, who joined as a guest referee. Beyond his expert officiating, Chris took on a new initiative to help promote pathways into the sport. He was on hand to offer advice on how to get into refereeing and coaching, pointing people toward local FA-run courses and learning opportunities.

Shaun Williams, Senior Housing Officer at Pine Court Housing Association shared his thoughts:

"It was fantastic to see so many people come. The Community Cup is more than just football; it’s about building bridges, celebrating our diverse communities, and creating lasting connections. We’re incredibly proud of how everyone embraced the spirit of the day."

Pine Court Housing Association extended

its gratitude to all the participants, volunteers, and partners who contributed to the event's success. The day served as a powerful reminder of the positive impact that sport and community events have in bringing people together.
